After the session there are a number of great local craft breweries and restaurants to explore right next door.

In this relaxing and mindful pottery session, you’ll discover the fundamentals of wheel throwing, perfectly suited for beginners or those looking to brush up on their skills. Carrie will guide you through the process of centering and shaping clay into delightful forms such as bowls, cups, or trinket dishes. By the end of the class, you’ll have created your very own unique clay piece. For an additional £5 fee, we will turn, fire and finish off your creation with our classic white glaze! Embrace the therapeutic benefits of working with clay while enjoying a hands-on experience away from the digital world. A great gift for yourself or to enjoy with a friend.

SHORT COURSES - beginners wheel throwing 4 week corse:

If you’ve caught the clay bug after your taster session, our 4-week beginners throwing course is exactly what you need! Join Carrie as she guides you through the entire process of creating beautiful pottery pieces from scratch. You’ll learn essential skills, starting with how to prepare and wedge your clay, then dive deeper into various throwing techniques. Once your creations reach a leather-hard state, you’ll master the fine art of trimming the base or foot of your pots.
Throughout the course, expect to make between 2 to 4 unique pieces. We offer in-house glazing for your creations, or if you’re feeling extra creative, you can sign up for an additional decorating session after your pots have been fired. It's a wonderful opportunity to embrace mindfulness, connect with the physicality of clay, and unleash your creative spirit. Join us, and let’s make art together!

From time to time we organise walk and clay half day retreats where we explore the coastline, collecting natural objects which we then use as texture, tools and inspiration for our clay session.
